Jing Craft Caring for Your Furniture
Timber Furniture
Timber is a beautiful natural material, showcasing unique variations in grain, colour, and texture. As with all natural materials, wood expands and contracts with temperature and humidity changes.
Jing Craft recommends positioning your timber furniture away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent warping and discolouration.
Regular dusting and gentle cleaning will help maintain the surface in optimal condition.
To minimise scratches, avoid dragging objects across the surface.
Placing hot or cold items (such as cups or bottles) directly on the surface may leave marks — always use coasters or protective pads.
Use your furniture as intended: Do not sit on armrests, lean on or stand on tabletops, or rock chairs on their back legs.
Painted and Timber Finishes
Natural timber and veneer finishes display unique patterns and colour variations — proof of genuine craftsmanship.
Always use protective heat mats, as tablecloths alone are insufficient.
Use coasters under glasses, bottles, and cups.
Clean surfaces regularly with a non-abrasive damp cloth.
Italian Microfiber Leather
Clean regularly using a soft, damp microfiber cloth. Avoid excessive moisture. For stains, use a mild neutral soap solution, wipe gently, and dry naturally.
Avoid alcohol, solvents, and abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the surface coating.
Keep away from direct sunlight and strong heat sources to prevent colour fading or deformation.
Microfiber leather does not require oiling or waxing — regular gentle care is enough to maintain its refined look and smooth texture.
Fabric Upholstery
If you notice a loose thread, cut it off rather than pulling it.
Use a vacuum cleaner with a suitable attachment to remove dust.
Avoid harsh brushing or contact with sharp objects such as rings, buckles, or toys, which may catch or damage the fabric.
Do not allow pets to climb on upholstered furniture.
Regular Fabric Maintenance
Pay special attention to high-contact areas such as seats, armrests, and headrests.
Weekly vacuuming using low suction and a soft brush attachment helps remove dust and abrasive particles, extending the life of your fabric and furniture.
Fresh Stains Are Easier to Clean
Spills and stains should be treated immediately with a suitable fabric cleaner.
Untreated stains may become permanent.
Pilling
With regular use, small balls of fibre — known as pilling — may form on the surface.
This is a normal occurrence, not a defect.
It can be removed easily using a fabric depiller without affecting performance.
Do Not Use
Avoid using detergents, alcohol, soaps, wax, window cleaners, saddle soap, silicone-based products, or any cleaner not specifically designed for your fabric type.
Avoid Heat Sources
Heaters that emit sulphur compounds may cause odour, discolouration, or fibre deterioration. Do not place furniture near such heat sources.
General Care
Sharp or abrasive objects (shoes, belt buckles, rings, zippers) may tear or wear fibres.
Dyes from clothing such as denim may transfer onto upholstery.
Avoid sitting on furniture with wet swimwear or towels to prevent watermarking, bleaching, or mould.
Do not use alcohol, chemicals, or non-approved cleaners as they may cause permanent damage.
Marble and travertine are natural stones, each with unique veining and colour variations.
Always use heat protection mats — a tablecloth is not enough.
Use coasters to prevent stains and rings.
Wipe spills immediately and clean with a soft damp cloth.
Marble, Travertine & Terrazzo Finishes
Dust regularly to prevent build-up that can cause rust or corrosion.
Use only approved chrome polish when necessary.
Avoid contact with sharp or hard objects that may scratch the surface.
Chrome & Metal FinishesChrome & Metal Finishes
Clean using standard glass cleaner and a soft lint-free cloth.
Avoid spraying cleaner onto surrounding materials or frosted surfaces.
Always use protective mats under hot items.
Do not lift a glass tabletop from its edges, as this places stress on the surface and may cause breakage.
